According to its founder, InjectPower's objective is simply "to make the medical devices of tomorrow, which currently lack a functional solution, even more active ."

In practice, these miniature, rechargeable batteries power tiny sensors that monitor pressure in the body. Already functional in animals, they will be tested in humans in 2025 for the treatment and monitoring of glaucoma and hydrocephalus.
